Project Description
Domestic Violence Intervention
Price Family Services provides a domestic violence intervention program for misdemeanor and felony domestic violence offenders. The domestic violence intervention program is a cognitive-behavioral treatment program that is based on the Duluth Model of providing a psycho educational therapy program for individuals struggling with power and control issues.
The Duluth Model is designed to provide opportunity for behavioral change to nonviolence and is reinforced by continual research on the program’s efficacy. The curriculum is based on the analysis that domestic violence is an issue of power and control. The curriculum is supplemented with additional modules on self-esteem, stress management, conflict resolution, healthy relationship skills, and other topics relevant to domestic abuse issues. New research is continually being implemented into the curriculum. Most of the participants in the program are court-ordered although voluntary participation is welcome.
